QUEENS GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

Our Queen Elizabeth II, celebrates 50 years of reign in 2002 and an official program of events has been announced by Buckingham Palace. Hotel availability will be scarce, so book now to avoid disappointment, rooms are disappearing fast.

June 1: The Queen will host a classical music concert in the grounds of Buckingham Palace. Tickets can not be purchased as there is a lottery system in place, but there will be giant video screens outside the palace for the general public to view the event.

June 2: Jubilee church services and bell-ringing across the UK. The Queen will attend a service at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

June 3: The Queen will host a pop concert in the grounds of Buckingham Palace. Again tickets can not be purchased as there is a lottery system in place, but giant video screens will show the event outside the palace. The Queen will also light a beacon (bonfire) signaling the start of a spectacular firework display and a chain of beacons stretching across the UK and the Commonwealth.

June 4: Golden Jubilee Carnival Pageant along The Mall close to Buckingham Palace. The Queen will attend a Thanksgiving service at St Paul's Cathedral. Later in the day she will make a balcony appearance at Buckingham Palace and watch a Royal Air Force Fly Past.
